Eligibility rules do apply, like meeting the income guidelines OR being enrolled in one of many public assistance programs, such as, Medi-Cal, WIC or SNAP. You will need to apply and get approved to be on California LifeLine before getting the discounts. Samaritan House Give Away

On two Saturdays in November, at local schools, Samaritan House will distribute Thanksgiving food to approximately 1,000 families-in-need. The families will “shop for free,” filling shopping bags with the items to make a complete holiday meal. Food distribution will take place at the following locations:
 
Saturday, November 14th  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at North Shoreview Elementary School, 1301 Cypress Ave., San Mateo
 
Saturday, November 21st  10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  College Park Elementary School, 715 Indian Avenue, San Mateo
 
To receive the food, families must qualify as Samaritan House clients. Interested families should make an appointment to register by calling the Holiday Registrar at 650-523-0833.
