KBLX has served the Bay Area for almost 30 years and our commitment to community service is unwavering. By providing a forum for Public Service Announcements daily, we offer nonprofit organizations an opportunity not only to reach the people they serve, but to reach the people who would like to help. We also produce our popular community affairs program, Bayview.
Please follow the guidelines below if you would like to submit your Public Service Announcement for consideration or if you would like to submit your nonprofit organization for a guest slot on Bayview.
KBLX PSA Guidelines:
- The organization or agency must be a nonprofit or an individual/group sponsoring a fundraising event for a nonprofit organization.
- The following information on the organization should be provided on letterhead:
- Contact person and telephone number
- The agencies tax exempt identification number
- A brief description of what services the organization provides to the community
- How long has the organization been in existence
- How the organization is funded.
- We accept written announcements for our website and the information should include: Who, What, Where, Date and Time. If there is a fee or if donations are being requested, the script should include who benefits from the proceeds and what percentage of the proceeds go to the recipient.
- Scripts must also include a telephone number for broadcast and or a website address. Please do not use anyone's home phone number, or private business phone number. The number which may be used for broadcast or in streaming on our website must be the agencies official telephone number.
- If the PSA is date sensitive, we need to receive the information at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Indicate "date sensitive material" on the envelope, as well as, in the cover letter.
- We accept :30 or :60 pre-recorded material for PSAs for our website.
- We accept logos 125 x 125 (jpeg format) for posting along with your announcement on our website.
Due to time constraints and volume of PSA requests, first consideration is given to submissions who meet the above requirements and there is no guarantee your PSA will run or be posted.

Non-profit Guest Slot on Bayview Guidelines:
KBLX produces Bayview, a Public Affairs show which airs on Sundays 5:30-6:00am. Topics include: health, teens, women, seniors, children from community service/nonprofit sectors. Bayview is taped and conducted in a general interview format.
Guidelines:
- You must be with a nonprofit or fundraising event for a nonprofit.
- Suggestions for guests should be submitted 4 weeks in advance of any program or event you are trying to promote.
- Send information about your organization and include your tax exempt id number.
- Include contact name/telephone number and the name of the person to be interviewed. Also include a one-sheet about the person you would like us to interview.

Black Adoption Placement and Research Center (BAPRC) is a private, non-profit agency founded in 1983. Their services are provided to families residing in 14 Northern California counties. The San Francisco Food Bank
The San Francisco Food Bank collect millions of pounds of food from growers, packers, processors, manufacturers, the USDA and grocery stores. Food drives are an important source of variety. Volunteers sort, repack and shelve almost 300 tons of food at our warehouse every week, doing the work of what would be about 36 full-time employees. They deliver food to over 600 community food programs. This includes 191 neighborhood pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, homeless shelters and youth program Visitors to their neighborhood pantries select food at weekly farmers’ market-style distributions to cook at home. Food from the Food Bank is also prepared at soup kitchens and packaged into bag lunches for school and summer programs. In all, we serve over 132,000 people each year. Wardrobe for Opportunity
Wardrobe for Opportunity receives referrals of qualified clients from over 70 partner social service agencies that are actively helping jobseekers prepare for and find jobs. During an initial appointment with a volunteer ‘personal shopper,’ a client receives two complete outfits including shoes and accessories for their upcoming interview. Once the client has been offered employment, they can return to WFO for a ‘working wardrobe’, which consists of enough clothing to dress for the first few weeks of work. Each consultation helps the client gain a more positive sense of self, enabling them to project the image of a confident applicant and employee.
