2012

Is it the end of the world as we know it?  This week, the movie 2012 opens in theatres.  The is the film exploring the idea of a global doomsday event coinciding with the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar's current cyle on or around December 21, 2012.

The movie follows a group of ordinary people in the United States while reports start to come out of South America of mass suicides of people who are looking to avoid the end of the world.  At the same time a secret group begins to build arks to save humanity and the greatest treasures of mankind.  Who will be selected to survive and who will be there to face the day in 2012 when the world ends.

This doomsday sci-fi action movie features the fine acting of John Cusack, Danny Glover, and Thandie Newton.  2012 is rated PG-13 for lanaguage and intense disaster sequences.  2012 opens in theatres this Friday.
