A Sigh of Relief: Caldecott to Stay Open

The Bay Area has been holding it’s breath since PG&E announced earlier this week that it would execute an emergency Shut Down “over high winds and low humidity.”

Residents have been flooding PG&E’s website for updates and status updates on their residence, schools, and jobs. This morning’s update on East Bay and Contra Costa rollouts have brought up growing public concern of the Caldecott Tunnel. This isn’t a new issue, as reports about the Caldecott have incited Caltrans’ concern over the closure and if generators would be installed in time since Monday. Thankfully, an official update from Caltrans’ Twitter announced that both “the Caldecott and Tom Lantos tunnels will remain open through the . No service disruption is expected.”
