Paramount Pictures is working with director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Empire, Dolemite Is My Name) on the Coming to America sequel… it’s official!
“After many years of anticipation, I’m thrilled that Coming to America 2 is officially moving forward,” said Eddie Murphy. “I’m looking forward to bringing all these classic and beloved characters back to the big screen.”
Kenya Barris (black-ish creator) is set to rewrite the script, originally written by writers Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield. Eddie Murphy is expected to return as the star. He will also be producing, along with Kevin Misher.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the story this time is about Akeem returning to American when he finds out about a long lost son and an improbable heir to the throne of Zamunda.
Sounds like this film will be just as entertaining as the first one!
