See the video below, where on January 21, 2019, Kamala Harris announces on Good Morning America that she is running for the President of the United States. She discusses why she plans to run. “I love my Country.” Kamala Harris says. “This is a moment in time that I feel a sense of responsibility to stand up and fight for the best of who we are.”

When discussing leadership skills, experience and integrity, “On all of those points, I feel very confident about my ability to lead. I feel very confident about my ability to listen and to work on behalf of the American public. The American public wants a fighter, and they want someone that is going to fight like heck for them and not fight based on self-interests. I’m prepared to do that.”

Kamala Harris is an attorney and politician who serves as the junior United States Senator for California. She previously served as the 32nd Attorney General of California (2011-2017) and as District Attorney of San Francisco (2004-2010).
