As fans gear up for the next installment in the Power universe, Power Book II: Ghost, executive producer 50 Cent is sharing some details on his headlining Power spinoff, Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
In a new Instagram post, 50 revealed that Tony Award winner and Madam Secretary actress Patina Miller will star in his forthcoming Power spinoff origins story.
Set in the 1990s, the series follows the early years of 50's now deceased character Kanan Stark.
According to Deadline, Miller will play the "successful" Raquel “Raq” Thomas, a cold, hard and fierce woman who calls the shots in a man’s world. Described as tough, resolute, ruthless, and deadly, Raq is said to still be capable of love. However, the only love she has is for her son, Kanan, who is everything to her.
In addition to taking care of her son, Raq also "carries the heavy burden as the earner for her two brothers."
50 also took time to share on his Instagram that he'll be gifting fans with new music.
"RAISING KANAN," he wrote, captioning a photo of himself. "I’m working on new music for this show."
Meanwhile, fans can gear up for the premiere of Power Book II: Ghost, starring Mary J. Blige, Method Man., Naturi Naughton, Michael Rainey, Jr. and others from the original cast. That series is expected to debut in June on Starz.
