Get ready to party like it's 1999 and beyond at the Lovers & Friends Festival in Los Angeles, when headliners Lauryn Hill, TLC, Lil Jon, Usher and Ludacris take center stage on Saturday, May 9th. When promoters Golden Voice first announced their lineup, featuring nostalgic R&B and hip hop artists with today's new emerging artists, many questioned the authenticity of the event, comparing it to the Fyre Festival. T-Pain is listed as a performer as well but scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud Miami on the same day, which is also the day Megan Thee Stallion is scheduled to perform at Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C.
Lil' Kim took to social media to confirm the concert lineup, saying "The check has cleared."
"Thank uncle @snoopdogg guys cause if it wasn’t for him this would not be happening but y’all know how much I love Cali and Uncle Snoop," she said. Snoop Dogg, one of the promoters of the show, agreed, saying the lineup is "100% confirmed," in an Instagram post. "So make sure you get your tickets when that s*** comes out because they gonna go fast. I mean real fast. You seen the list," he wrote.
Soulection founder Joe Kay also confirmed the festival's validity, tweeting, “This is real. We do not condone fake/mock up line ups. everything we get behind is always official and locked in.” He continued saying, “FYI: This festival is put together by Goldenvoice. They do Coachella & so much more. They don’t miss or do fake shows.”
The festival announced a second date for Friday, May, 8, to see Doja Cat, Akon, Mya, Donell Jones.
The festival is set to take place at the Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Tickets are on sale now.
