Following a four-year hiatus, Ms. Lauryn Hill is back with new music.
After it was announced that Hill would release a new song on the soundtrack, the executive producer and writer of the film, Lena Waithe, took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the news.
"Honored," she wrote, captioning a write-up of the announcement, which read, "@MsLaurynHill is set to make an appearance on the upcoming #QueenAndSlim soundtrack.”
As previously noted, the 17-track soundtrack features new music from Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, Vince Staples featuring 6lack X Mereba, Tiana Major 9 & EARTHGANG, Coast Contra featuring BJ The Chicago Kid and Syd.
Plus, it includes classic songs by Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Prince, Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers. Al Green, Roberta Flack, and more.
Queen & Slim stars Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith as a new couple who go on the run after a minor traffic infraction turns deadly. The film hits theaters on November 27.
