Teyana Taylor will be taking her talents to the silver screen, as she joins the all-star cast of the sequel Coming 2 America, Collider has learned.
While the "How Do You Want It?" singer's role in the sequel to the 1988 cult classic film is being kept under wraps, Taylor confirmed the news with fans via Instagram writing: "Lets gooooooooo"
Under the direction of Craig Brewer, Coming 2 America will see the return of Eddie Murphy as Prince Akeem, the heir to the throne of the fictional African nation of Zamunda. When he discovers he has an estranged son in America, he sets out to groom his long-lost heir for the crown in order to fulfill his dying father's wish.
This isn't Taylor's first rodeo when it comes to acting, of course: She's appeared in several major motion pictures, including The Breaks and The Trap.
The cast also includes Shari Headley, who will reprising her role as Lisa McDowell, as well as original castmates Arsenio Hall and James Earl Jones.
In addition, the sequel is welcoming a handful of newcomers including Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Michael Blackson, KiKi Layne, Jermaine Fowler and Rick Ross.
With production slated to begin later this month, Coming 2 America is set to arrive in theaters come December 2020.
