Get ready for the 2019 Madam C.J. Walker Luncheon and Empowerment Forum
SAN FRANCISCO – The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Oakland Bay Area Chapter (NCBW-OBAC), invites you to join a day of inspiration and celebration of excellence for the 21st Annual Madam C.J. Walker Luncheon & Empowerment Forum. This year’s theme is: “Cultivating Our Legacy: Intentionally Building Our Future”. The event will take place on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel, in San Francisco, California.
The occasion kicks off with a morning empowerment panel forum featuring engaging leaders addressing key areas that affect women and girls of color. The goal is to provide an impactful and empowering experience that will transform all that attend.
Attendees will have access to two 50-minute workshops with complimentary breakfast beginning at 8:30am, followed by the 21th Annual Madam C. J. Walker Business and Community Recognition Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Esteemed journalist, White House correspondent and author, April Ryan, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Additionally, Miranda Wilson, radio personality for 102.9 KBLX-FM will assist as the event’s mistress of ceremonies.
The Business and Community Recognition Awards Luncheon will honor four outstanding women in the areas of advocacy, entrepreneurship, corporate excellence and pioneer leadership. In addition, the luncheon will spotlight the 2019 Positive Steps Mentoring Program Essay contest winner, Jasmine Edwards.
Among those being honored is 102.9 KBLX’s own Kimmie Tee, the recipient of this year’s Madam CJ Walker Corporate Recognition Award.
