The KBLX Cares Toy Drive started early Friday Morning with the Morning Dream Team, Tony Sco, Antoine Davis and Kimmie T! Then at 10 am Sterling James followed by Nikki Thomas until 7pm, The big story is the generosity of the KBLX Nation was so heartwarming! By the time I showed up at 2pm, there was a mountain of toys including Bikes, TV’s, games, remote control trucks and robots, Easy Bake Ovens (My personal favorite) and a wonderful woman bought a shopping cart full of shoes ranging in size from toddlers to teens!!!
You see, the way I see it, the Christmas Holiday is about great expectations…Hope. What is hope? Well it’s a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. There are so many children living without hope. They have been disappointed, let down and their dreams have often turned into nightmares. Disappointed children who become disillusioned adults–always waiting for the worst to happen.
It’s a wonderful feeling to know that the child who didn’t think they’d receive anything for the Holiday will have a big smile on their faces. That parent who is working hard to keep the rent paid and the utilities on will be encouraged by the laughter and the words, “Mom and Dad, LOOK AT WHAT I’VE GOT!” For sharing your joy, your time, your gifts and most of all you love, thank you!
