Gratitude for the opportunity to sit down with O.G., (I called him that twice, I hope he didn’t mind), Danny Glover!
Per usual, I was a bit nervous, I always am, it means I care. But I was especially edgy with Danny, he’s done and seen so much!
I was ready with what I thought would be some intriguing questions. We’d talk about cultural displacement and gentrification and his work in the film “The Last Black In Man In San Francisco”. We’d talk about his relationship with Boots Riley’s family and his contributions to the film “Sorry To Bother You”. We’d talk about his Good Will Ambassadorship with the UN. We’d talk about all he fights for.
We talked about that and more… He is a STORYTELLER. He took us on an incredible ride, sharing his personal stories of growing up in San Francisco and how he still runs into childhood friends in his neighborhood. He talked about the state of the union (and the world) from his perspective and experience, quoting everyone from Dr. King to Einstein. And he talked about his still, vibrant life at 73 years old, living bi-coastal between the East Coast and The Height Ashbury!
I had nothing to be nervous about, he was truly a peach.
An O.G. Peach!
Come take a ride with me and Mr. Glover
